Picturesque Villages
Winery House is located in Finikia. This picturesque village is practically an extension of Oia towards the south. For many years, Finikia was inhabited by farmers whose main occupation was grape and wine production. It was not affected that much by the earthquake of 1956. Therefore, most of the houses are the original canavas and have historical interest. Finikia has the advantage of being within walking distance from Oia, yet offering a quiet stay to its visitors.
The famous spot for watching sunset, known as Kastro, is just 20 min. away from our accommodation. It can get crowded, as every visitor of Oia will be there. Therefore, we suggest you get there before everyone else, to find a comfortable spot.
POINTS OF INTERESTS AND DISTANCES
The well-known spot for watching stunning sunsets is about 20 min. away by foot. It’s called Kastro and it is located on the north-west side of Oia village.
The bus stop is just 180 meters away from Winery House.
Nearest restaurants to Winery House are: Krinaki (100m), Meze Meze (70m), Santorini mou (180m), Finikia’s memories (180m). They are located conveniently, just “around the corner”.
Center of Oia is a beautiful place. It can get very crowded, especially during the high season, but you should definitely visit it. You can get there by foot from Winery House. About 15 min away.
The capital of Santorini, is located about 10 km. away Finikia. If you don’t have your own mean of transport, you can use the local bus. Many trekking enthusiasts like to walk to Fira. There is a path just about the spectacular cliffs, passing through Imerovigli and Firostefani, which ends in our capital. Without stopping for photos, the duration is about 2.5 hours.
The main port of Santorini is called Athinios. If you will use bus line to reach Winery House from there, you will reach Fira first. Then you will take another bus to get to Finikia. The bus schedule is quite frequent, so you won’t be waiting long.
